What to Bring to a Heels Dance Class (Encino/LA): Quick List
Nervous about your first heels dance class? Preparation helps. Here’s a beginner‐friendly list so you can show up to class in Encino or Los Angeles with less stress and more confidence.
The essentials
- Bring:
A yoga mat (for comfort during floorwork or stretching) - Knee pads (especially if you’re new to floorwork)
Water
A small towel (optional) - A light layer for warm‐up/cool‐down
Shoes: heels or sneakers
If you already own dance heels that feel stable, bring them. If you’re not ready, bring sneakers and learn the movement first. Starting in sneakers is a smart beginner move—not a “step down.” Your goal is to practice posture, balance, and timing.
Comfort + outfit tips
Wear something you can move in and that feels emotionally comfortable. Confidence is physical and mental —if you’re adjusting straps and tugging at clothing all class, you’ll feel distracted. Choose supportive, flexible pieces.
Your “first class” mini plan
Before class: eat something light, arrive early, breathe. During class: aim for one improvement (posture, walk, or a single count of choreography). After class: write one sentence about what felt good. Those tiny wins build momentum.
